VideoPolished uses third-party services to process your videos. This page discloses which vendors handle your data, what data they receive, and their relevant policies.
Processing Vendors
OpenAI — Transcription, Translation & AI Analysis
- What they receive: Audio extracted from videos that require transcription, plus resulting transcript text for summaries, chapters, subtitle translation, and recap edit planning
- What they do: Transcribe speech to text (Whisper) and generate chapters, summaries, translated subtitles, and recap edit plans (GPT-4o-mini)
- Data retention: OpenAI does not use API inputs/outputs to train models. Data may be retained up to 30 days for abuse monitoring.
- Policy: OpenAI API Data Usage Policy
fal.ai — Media Processing Gateway
- What they receive: Audio or video only when the selected workflow requires a hosted model
- What they do: Route audio enhancement and upscaling, ElevenLabs dubbing, video object tracking, and generative video object erasing to the selected processing model
- Data retention: Provider-hosted result links may remain available temporarily according to fal.ai and the underlying model provider's policies. VideoPolished copies completed results into its own managed storage.
- Policy: fal.ai Privacy Policy
The current hosted model providers accessed through fal.ai include ElevenLabs for dubbing, Topaz for upscaling, Meta's SAM 2 for tracking a painted object across video frames, and BRIA/VOID for object erasing. Provider selection may change as we compare quality and reliability.
